What a rough rail crossing does when you hit it at 120 Just about bounced me out of the seat, noticed this when I got home lol. My 2016 2500 Duramax.
So I started a project this spring something I've been planning for years now. It's been a dream of mine for the last 25 years to build some engines and then do some rebuilds on older trucks or cars and drive them for a while then put them up for sale. Finally got my shop to the point where I felt it was time start. Been researching and reading and watching a lot of video over the last couple years and escpcialy the last few months there's a lot of good information out there this day and age sure makes it easy for a beginner. This winter I searched and found the block I wanted, 350 SBC, 4 bolt main. Brought it home stripped it, took it into the city and had the block inspected, bored .030 over, line honed, and deck checked. Brought it home did a final cleaning, went through every nook and cranny on that block, cleaned up some sloppy burring it had from casting and readied it for paint and build. I'm building the engine to around 410-420 HP been dealing with the boys and at Pro Stock in the city, great guy's a wealth of knowledge they have. Randy set me up with a really nice engine package he knows exactly what a guy needs for any givern HP all top of the line products. I'm going to be doing it in stages just to help spread out the cost some it's not cheap, the engine alone will be in the 7 - 8 grand mark by the time I'm done. I purchased and have installed the rotating assembly, cam and timing gears. Will let it sit here for a while until later summer maybe and then go ahead and do the top end. Went with Scat 9000 series crank, Kieth Black coated flat top pistons, full floating pins with Moly rings. Comp Cam with .477 lift Going to be going with PW aluminum heads with 64cc chambers, 2.01 / 1.94 valves, 200cc intake runners topped off with Edelbrock Air Gap RPM manifold topped with a 750cm carb. Will Finnish the engine off with all polished aluminum serpentine pullies and accessories. I will be putting this engine into a 1974-1980 GMC short box 4x4 with manual transmission. Not a mudder truck at all will probly never see 4 wheel drive it's just going to be an afternoon up town driver. Nothing to big and crazy, maybe a 4" lift with 31" tires some mods nothing to outlandish just a nice clean truck. Plan on having this machine in Canary yellow with black accents as the engine will be done to match.
Someone educate me on black guns .... Non R , semi , Hunter friendly , Thnx
