       FATHERS DAY ...

As this is the Sports MAN and we are for the most part
familly oriented . I am watching our son and familly grow,
watching our son struggle with the role model position .
The hardest job to do is me keeping my mouth shut .
I grew up without a strong male influence , so I kind
Of wandered aimlessly till my early 40s , made a lot of
bad choices with no guidance . Thank a God for hunting and
fishing ,they always brought me back. This is an interesting article .
I have streamlined the Poppa wish list .....Tim Hortons ...I'm
         Good

SOCCER ....sad really .....I forced myself to watch my first
ever full soccer game ....world cup....Sweden versus Germany .
If you watch hockey and believe  in the gospel of don Cherry
Then you know...that Scandinavians are the worst divers in sports
followed by the Russians ....most of the time is consumed by penalty
Giving ..having watched one only Cricket match , it was eons ahead
Of soccer in the action area .
Give me Hockey violence any day ....I must be Canadienne.

Soccer guy here. I have played and now coached both kids through community and into their adult leagues. My biggest peeve is the so called professionals and their diving antics. Makes me embarrassed for the sport. The elite of elite players and they drop like flies with the best acting they can, only for the replay to show it was barely a touch. Brutal that Fifa has not cracked down on it years ago.

So I started a project this spring something I've been planning for years now. It's been a dream of mine for the last 25 years to build some engines and then do some rebuilds on older trucks or cars and drive them for a while then put them up for sale. Finally got my shop to the point where I felt it was time start. Been researching and reading and watching a lot of video over the last couple years and escpcialy the last few months there's a lot of good information out there this day and age sure makes it easy for a beginner.

This winter I searched and found the block I wanted, 350 SBC, 4 bolt main. Brought it home stripped it, took it into the city and had the block inspected, bored .030 over, line honed, and deck checked. Brought it home did a final cleaning, went through every nook and cranny on that block, cleaned up some sloppy burring it had from casting and readied it for paint and build.

I'm building the engine to around 410-420 HP been dealing with the boys and at Pro Stock in the city, great guy's a wealth of knowledge they have. Randy set me up with a really nice engine package he knows exactly what a guy needs for any givern HP all top of the line products. I'm going to be doing it in stages just to help spread out the cost some it's not cheap, the engine alone will be in the 7 - 8 grand mark by the time I'm done. I purchased and have installed the rotating assembly, cam and  timing gears. Will let it sit here for a while until later summer maybe and then go ahead and do the top end.

Went with Scat 9000 series crank, Kieth Black coated flat top pistons, full floating pins with Moly rings. Comp Cam with .477 lift Going to be going with PW aluminum heads with 64cc chambers, 2.01 / 1.94 valves, 200cc intake runners topped off with Edelbrock Air Gap RPM manifold topped with a 750cm carb. Will Finnish the engine off with all polished aluminum serpentine pullies and accessories.

I will be putting this engine into a 1974-1980 GMC short box 4x4 with manual transmission. Not a mudder truck at all will probly never see 4 wheel drive it's just going to be an afternoon up town driver. Nothing to big and crazy, maybe a 4" lift with 31" tires some mods nothing to outlandish just a nice clean truck. Plan on having this machine in Canary yellow with black accents as the engine will be done to match.

Sadly, the hotrodding community lost Randy from ProStock in that awful accident on the Yellowhead last Friday.
RIP

From the article and all true in my experience.
He remembers Rowlinson as a polite, kind man who was there to assist auto hobbyists in building their dream projects.

“He was the gentlest giant you would ever meet … (and was) in the business to help people,” Cooper said.

Really,, that's so sad. He was such a knowledgeable man and so nice to deal with. He had all the patients in the world with me being a newby to the game. Took the time out of his busy day to go through everything with me. He is going to be missed not many business people like him around.

Maybe it was blessed by Vladimir Putin. People these days think used gun are worth just about what they paid for them. That's why you see close to 3500 ad's still sitting on The Town Post gun listing. Crazy for sure. Unless it's something special why would I pay close to retail for it.

Photobucket has been pushing for money the last while I quit using them a while back and switched to Imagur, it's a lot more user friendly for posting online pics.

Looks to me it’s has its feet up having a cold one watching reruns of the Riflemen. Now that single action seem to be a little intimidating. Gang bangers in TO will be after that Somke Wagon.
