Rattler Bite??
« on: June 16, 2011, 06:44:40 AM »
I was walking in some deep grass the other day and a snake was in there!!! Scared the heck out of me!! It was only a garder snake, but I was wondering if anyone has ever been bitten by a Rattler Snake while out hunting?? Did it hurt? Did you go into a coma?? I would like to hear some stories about being bitten by a snake, and maybe what you could do to save the life of the person bitten???

was in the Okanagon about 30 years ago and got wacked by a mid sized rattler on the calf
hurt like friggin hell and after the bite it felt like my leg was on fire
I was alone and did the slice it with a knife and forced it to bleed out a little and got myself to the ER to get an anti venom shot
didnt feel well for a couple days but I survived

When I was down working in SE Alberta we had snake bite kits. Think its still somewhere in my trailer. Never needed it. I would still go to the hospital if ever bit, people react different even with a bee sting.
