I think I would invite Terry Grant the Mantracker.. ;)

I don't know the guy and I have never meet him but I loved his show and his wit...

I have met the guy at the Edmonton Sportsman Show. He is one of my new customers.
Here he is posing for a quick shot with BB Girl Angela.

I'd invite Corb Lund....he's Albertan for certain!

First time I heard 'gettin' down on the mountain' I was listening to CKUA radio network in Alberta (530am or 93.7fm in YYC/107.7 in Red Deer), and actually drew a tear that song moved me so much.

He's all outdoors in my opinion and I have a total crush hehehe

I'd invite someone like Bob Kjos, Bobby Turner or one of the many old timers from the west country. Listening to these guys tell stories is amazing and the amount of real world outdoor knowledge they have is Unreal! They are great guys that people can learn a ton from. I sure know I have.
Others that would be nice for stories and picture value would be guides like Dan Leonard and Danny Moore that have guided for over 100rams each and hundreds of other animals. They have grew up in the outdoors and have had to make a hard living at it! They haven't had a script or a production crew. Just themselves to rely on!

One of the neatest guys I ever got to spend time with was Frank Coggins! I spent many evenings chatting with him in the Dormer Patrol cabin about how the country has changed since he started in that country as a Park warden, how he has observed animals and the ways of back country horsemanship. Guys like him would be great on forums like this as people couldn't discredit the knowledge they have as they were there. They have done it! And they have seen the changes.

I hunt sheep to see over the next mountain not to measure the next trophy!

Ya, no doubt, Darcy.  The real hardcore outdoors guys are the least likely that most of us are familiar with their names.
The TV guys are getting all the limelight with scripted entertainment.

I don't see this thread as being about "picking a hero to invite" but some one who could provide an interesting view and would be beneficial to this board.

People are often talking about how hunters (and all outdoor sportsmen/outdoorsmen) should get along and be more "united".

I'd like to invite the editor of Sports Scene Publications to come on this forum and give us his prospective on some of the issues.

Someone who I have hunted with a few times and makes a hard living in the Alberta Outdoors is Brent Sinclair from Pincher Creek.  Brent is a great guy to hunt with and has made a living relying only on himself, much like Sheepguide described his people.  He guides full time all over the world and has many experiences the rest of us wish we had.  Definitely knows his way around the outdoors.
