Yeah,....I wouldn't exactly call it a "fiasco".

This was done intentionally and with a plan.  By all accounts, it was (another) successful breach of basic human rights and constitutional rights by our national paramilitary police.

Whether or not this is tolerated will say a lot about who we are and what we have become.

You bet, Rocky.  If this is allowed this time without major consequences for the RCMP brass, it is doomsday for all we have now for firearms rights and basic human rights and constitutional rights.
This was pre-planned as you say and they were testing the waters (pardon the pun) to see if they could wield their powers from within using the flood disaster as a smoke screen.

I have read now (from residents accounts) that guns were seized that were stored in the back of closets out of plain view and cased.  More lies from the RCMP.  Did they use the supposedly destroyed registry data, who knows?  I wouldn't put it past them.  Thugs and thieves with yellow stripes on their legs!

I will be contacting my MP (Laurie Hawn) and demanding that RCMP heads roll for this.  If not I will assure him that I will not support him again and actually campaign actively against him based on this huge breach of rights that our national police trampled on.  It will say a lot about who we are and what we will tolerate.  On top of that, I will keep a couple of my guns hidden from any future registry attempts which will surely be on the agenda again.  If this isn't a warning sign that the RCMP want all of the citizens disarmed, I don't know what is.

Hunters and shooting enthusiasts should be furious about this!  So much work done to repeal the gun registry and now this.  Firearm confiscation and forcible entry without consent, exactly the scenario we all feared  as gun owners.

x2.

If we can't get riled up and motivated by RCMP using their gun databases to target houses and then seize property (guns) for no reason and without a warrant, we are beyond hope and the only thing you and I will have left is to:

Enjoy the Decline.

Maybe we have come to that, but I sure hope not.  Our kids deserve the kind of freedom we inherited from our parents.
