Some Old Salmon Fishing Video
« on: August 22, 2014, 11:59:27 PM »
Walleye's (Terry) recent salmon posts reminded me of some old video I had from a trip to the coast a long time ago.  This was back in the late eighties when I was just a young buck.  Me and friends Randal and Eric went out to Terrace BC fishing with Randal's uncle Vic who lived in Terrace.  We did a cool jet boat trip up the famed Gitnadoix River which is a tributary to the mighty Skeena.  This is salmon country bar none.  We just hit the very beginning of the Coho run.

This old video was taken in super 8 video and has been converted a bunch to get it to YouTube compatibility.  It is still the old 4:3 aspect ratio too.  I spliced bit of it together and came up with this.  Some good jet boating video at least.

I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Pretty darn cool Ken,, man some nice wild country eh,, I wonder if it's still as pristine.

I am surprised those fish were still so silver and not any black on them yet as they get soon after hitting the fresh water, and still sea lice as well you must not have been to far from the salt.

The old boy wasn't scared to run that outboard over some pretty slim water eh lol.. I know it's a jet but still pretty wicked old skinner.

Nice vid axe thx for sharing it.
