Ted morton (POLL)
« on: June 13, 2011, 03:17:11 PM »
Sorry Paul, but I have to strongly disagree with Alberta Sportsmans facebook support of Ted morton. He just may be the WORST thing to happen to Alberta Sports people , considering his past antics. e.g. trying to bring in paid hunting to Alberta.

I'll strongly second that and urge you to look into more closely Paul.  The paid hunting fiasco is proof enough, but there's plenty more than that, Bill 50, Bill 36, and on and on...

Ted Morton is the devil in disguise.  I would NOT trust that man or anything he says.

OK guys fair enough, this is a great place to discuss it. So let's do that. If you don't support Ted tell us and show us why, if you do support Ted tell us and show us why. I can't speak on everyone's behalf here, so let's leave it open for discussion before a decision is made on that. We will also make a poll about it. Fair enough?

With all due respect for Mr. Morton (if your watching).

I agree 100%. Ted has too many corporate buddies that put bad ideas in his head.
Not just for the sake of hunting but I think Alberta needs a change. The conservatives are getting old and stale and they have cut, cut, and cut to the expense of taxpayers. You all know, when you privatize something it's us tax payers that take up the slack.
I honestly think the WRA would be a breath of fresh air for Alberta, new ideas, new faces bring new agendas and policies. OMO, but I don't like many of the old ones

I say give em a chance and see what they can do!

Morton has money.  His friends have money.  Rich usually want more money and screw the rest of the world.  Morton will make Alberta his playground for him and his friends.  If that means making hunt farms or the highest bidder to be able to hunt on lands he will do it.
Also was his brother who is an outfitter the one that got caught up with that sheep poaching down south in WMU 400 with the native Gilford Fox??  I believe that was true but please correct me if I am wrong.

I agree its time for a change..

I am a true conservative not a P.C. but a conservative.. So with that in mind there is only one party in Alberta and thats the Wild Rose party.. The P.C.'s are so out of touch with their conservative roots its not even funny nor is there even a discussion to have about it..

So to put myself behind anyone in a party that I no longer believe in is impossible.. Morton and the rest of his party cronies can all F@ck off on the first bus leaving this fine province,, hell I will buy the ticket for them all.

Ted Morton represents a political ideology that believes Government should make our decisions for us.

Open Spaces (paid hunting) only dropped off the radar due to budget constraints. Even in the face of stiff opposition, he only "shelved" the HFH component. That suggests to me that it would likely return if Ted were given another opportunity.

Bill 34, and the erosion of property rights is another brainchild of Ted. See above.

Ted is not only not a friend of the average "Alberta Sportsman", but rather represents a threat to every Albertan.

That was not his brother they're not even related.  I know bill very well and he was proven innocent on all charges.

Glad to hear he is not related GSP.  Yes he was let go on all charges but we all know how that works. ::)  You forget I have a lot of friend and family in Southern Alberta as well.  People pretty well know the story.  Too bad there is not enough proof and I will leave it at that!!!

Come on nube how much more proof do you need other then being proven completely innocent in a court of law. I see bill a couple times a month and have spent alot of time talking to him about this. Those who think they know are mostly jealous of the things he's done.

HAHA, with the law you need absolute proof.  Kind of hard to get sometimes!  I hope you are right GSP!  Since you are in the know you have to agree there is a lot to the story.

Totally agree with you nube.  He got mixed up with the wrong guy at the wrong time. He made a dumb mistake and paid a big price, not only in court fees but his character took a huge unnecessary beating.  But he DID NOT poach any sheep

I never did say he poached them!  I do find it odd that a guy kills a sheep and needs a cape though.

I know that he syas that.  Out of over a dozen + sheep kills I have never left a cape or head on the mountain.  And that includes killing sheep without a backpack to carry the head out back to base camp.  I 'd really love to hear his story.
