The End Of The Wild Rose Party.
« on: December 16, 2014, 06:49:26 AM »
Not so sure I am happy about this one it was good having a far right voice in our policy making but at the same time it is important to join the conservative vote rather than have it split.

I have said it before I will say it again, Daniel Smith was the wrong person to lead this charge,, big mistake by the party.

They had our support here in the south.  Prentice may be the first legitimate leader the Tory's had since Ralph so it may be a good move for the Wildrose.

I hated the PC's with Redford in charge.

Now with Prentice at the helm....well I'm not sure yet.

I don't have much faith in Prentice, it started right with the an outing of his lefty buddy Mandel.. A friggin loser ndp brown noser that switched colors to get elected. No different then Redford the liberal.
The theme I see is guys from the east running this province we will be Ontario if the west.

Totally agree with honker hitter.  Prentice and Mandel are not conservatives by any stretch of the imagination.
Lower oil revenues will force them to be a bit more conservative but remember that this is the same party that pissed away our rainy day fund in good times.

The Wildrose has now proven that they are not conservatives either and have zero morals or ethics.  All scum!  Rats jumping ship to preserve their jobs, that's all.

This born here Albertan is a true conservative and there are very few of us left.  A few of us here maybe.
Anyone want to start a new party....we might get a few votes... ;)
But Alberta is liberal land now. (not including me)

With the way society is gong true conservativisim is getting hard to maintain. Most hard righters are considered religious zealots, bigots and capitalist pigs. It's funny that the ones that preach tolerance are the ones that are the least tolerant,, funny how they can't see that lol..

In all honesty it can't be easy being a politician this day and age and trying to balance ones beliefs along with mainstream thoughts. No,, true conservatives are a thing of the past it's sad but that's just the way it's going. We have to keep the people in power that atleast try and balance it out for us. Gone are the days of our childhood and our parents world,, shes rolling down hill and straight into hell in a hand basket boys,, and it's only going to get worse.. Sad times indeed.

Well several e- mail communication s with the wild rise before the last election told me alot about there moral compass..  I warned them that the nominee for our area was a thief that had been committing fraud schemes for 20 years before trying to dabble in politics. I said the local area new him and he didn't have a chance of getting elected. So people held there nose and voted PC , there really was no choice.
Well this fell on deaf ears the only response I got was I needed to buy a membership to be heard. Really so your a pay to play party nice.
Fast forward to 6 months ago and the hype of a new PC leader and maybe another provincial election and they are scrambling for canadites I emailed them saying there may actually be a stand up citizen thinking of running , I guy that would likley have little trouble to get votes.  I said to e mail us the party's nomination package and we will revue it and he would make a desicion .  Well if you buy a membership well get it right out to you, I said send it if we like  what we see then we'll by in and actually put the work in to get this guy voted in.
Well I guess there arrogance helped us dodge that bullet.
A depleted budget and ESRD will take the brunt of it. The health care system is the shambles, education well we should have a bunch of fancy new schools with nobody to run them... I don't know where to begin.
I guess the WR was never what  it claimed to be , smoke and mirrors.
Personally I'm fiscally conservative , more socially moderate.  I don't really care what you do in your bedroom just don't go bragging about it and having parades.  I feel the social issues ussually drag down people or party's and make good press, but most times are un winnable one way or another.
On the other hand if you look after the books and can strike a balance between expenditures and income the rest for the most part takes care of itself. It's winnable and people like knowing you have the interest of the province at heart.

I'd be surprised if Danielle wins her seat next election;  wouldn't that be poetic justice?

Far as wildrose's future, I think the next couple weeks will tell the tale.  Were they to regroup, elect a strong leader and become the proper consevative, right wing party they were formed to be I suspect they'd have more support than last election.  (vetted candidates, of course)

Only a couple weeks ago was the local wildrose board mtg/elections.  Unfortunately it was on the same day as the CPC's but started a little later.  I had planned on leaving the cpc mtg early to attend at least part of the wildrose mtg but it ran late and I never got there.

Now I'm wondering if something was in the wind, or this is a blindside?

Haven't contacted our local mla Drew Barnes, I figure he's enough on his plate right now;  hoping to receive an email in a week or two once they choose a path.

This just goes to show,, a politician is a politician is a polittician. It takes a certain type of person to become a politician and we can see by this what type of person that is. It's all about having some sort of power over someone else. Forget the ideals they spew in the end they are all after the same thing,, power.

Danielle will be offered some cushy cabinet position or buricratic bs job and shoved off to oblivion.. What a waste of the last 8 or more years of my life supporting this party..

Fricken Danielle Smith,, what a waste !!

I wouldn't be so fast to forget the thieving PC's. Prentice has done nothing yet to earn Alberta's support, now with basically no opposition or threat to their leadership they can do whatever they choose. Time will tell boys!
