I have to agree, the accurracy of a bow is not as great as a high powered rifle with a scope on it. I was one of those guys that couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a bow. Sold the bow and never had a need to buy another.

I've seen a deer or two running around with arrows sticking out of their carcass.

I suppose there is some truth to this,,  I mean for obvious reasons boys,, a rifle is a more effective weapon at killing.

Personally I believe that mainstream media with all the hunting shows have created a lot of hunters out of people that otherwise wouldn't of been hunters. Same can be said for bow hunting and long range shooters.. It's called advertising people and it works..

The differences between an arrow wound and a bullet wound is the animal will heal from an arrow wound (more often). Obviously your going to see an arrow in a deer. how many limping or sickly deer have you seen that you suspected a bullet wound? I suspect none as we tend to think the deer is just "injured".
An arrow is just as deadly as a bullet, within each of their ranges. It's the users that aren't.

And banged the side of your truck with the nozzle and chipped the paint, over ran the diesle and left a big stain down the side of yer truck, leaned on your dusty vehicle as he smeared the mud & bugs around your winshield and scratched the paint,, yah I miss those days lol..

I like the good old days when gas was 25 cents a gallon.
When you could have a gun rack in the back window of the pick-up.
When you could drive down town with an animal in the pick-up without strange looks.

I call BS on all of these animals running around with arrows sticking out of them

Really! but I'm not surprised.

I actually don't care what you call, I know what I seen. You know, for a young man of your age you sure know alot or you at least think you do.

Actually Tuc, I have seen deer running around with arrows. 2 of them, and have dug an arrowhead from a rifle harvested elk. I have also seen "injured" deer. Not knowing what their injury is from.
All I was suggesting was that the weapon isn't the culprit. it is the user.

Sonny! That pic you posted of the spiker....is that an SKS in your pic or am I a dummy??? Swear to goodness that looks just like my SKS. I've heard about hunting with those (Natives actually told me this) but that you have to grind down the full metal jacket so the lead is exposed then they are legal to hunt with.

If that's NOT an sks then I'm sorry and I feel like a tard lol.

I miss the days of spending a weekend camping and fishing with my Dad, no agendas, just relaxing and fishing.  Its the other way around now and I take my Dad out, the difference now is that I am footing the bill.  LOL :o

Yup thats an SKS but holy smokes I don't think grinding the tips of off fmj ammo is a good idea.lol

Beside there are plenty of places to buy soft point 7.62X39 ammo. ;)

HEHE! Yep I'm not saying its a good idea either LMAO. It most certainly isn't. I don't usually ask questions....just nod and smile and back away slowly lol. Do you think there's any difference in cost? Why would grinding the tip even be on the table...hmmmcreativity and effort points!?

I miss the good old days when we had Christmas in schools :) and UNICEF kids who went door to door at Halloween. OH! And I miss when at Halloween people gave out caramel apples, and popcorn balls and home made stuff that didn't have razor blades and rat poison in it :)
