Threatening CO
« on: November 13, 2014, 03:29:03 PM »
Anyone heard about the CO who pulled his glock and pointed it in hunters faces for no apparent reason? Apparently they were stopped on the Conklin road and said they were hunting, CO pulled his gun and demanded they get out of the vehicle, their guns were unloaded and they didn't do anything threatening or acted rude. Trying to get the full story, but if that's the case it's pretty damn scary to get a gun pointed at you just for being out hunting. The CO changed his attitude when one of the hunters started recording with his phone.

I want to say I was stopped by the LLB boys today, guy blocked the road in front of me pulling into my lane, which kind of pissed me off, but I never mentioned how irritating it was. Overall he was professional, he didn't try snooping in my truck, let me handle my own rifle to show him it wasn't loaded, and we both went our separate ways. Overall a simple professional experience, as it should be. As far as the story I heard well there are many sides to a story, I will leave it at that.

I have had nothing but unpleasant experiences with CO's in Alberta majority of the time. This year while hunting moose in Sask I had my first encounter with one of their CO's. I have to say it was a rather pleasant experience.  I was going into my tree stand and guess who was waiting for me. I had a pleasant talk with him and told him I was from Alberta and have hunted their for many years. He was a talkative fellow and seemed easy to get along with. It was a warm day and I had my florescent hunting jacket and hat slug over the front of my quad. I was also abscent a waterproof container under my licks. After a pleasant conversation he said he could have cited me for 2 vilations, no container and not having my reds on which is mandatory in Sk. I did get a warning but no tickets. I thought that was fair and assured him the next time he visited my stand there would be a water proof container under my lick and I would be donning the proper clothing.

Thank God he didn't point any gun at me.
