If you can call them hockey fans. What a disgrace and embarrassment to the city. I doubt the result would have been much different had they won, clearly Vancouver doesn't deserve the honor of a cup, karma...

No one should be shocked at what is happening tonight in Vancouver. I felt very strongly that tonights loss would result in a riot in Van. This is why the Canucks will never be Canada's team, even if they are the only one left in the Stanley Cup final.

Yes, it is a small group compared to the whole, but the cloud they cast only tarnishes everyone in the city. The 94 riot was handled badly, and they tried to make thing better this year. The same kind of people that were involved then are the same kind involved tonight and unfortunately the bigger the city the bigger the problems. More young people on booze and drugs who don't give a crap causing havoc, and tons more just standing around watching anarchy unfold and do nothing about it.

I have never been a Canucks fan, and its not because of their players. They have a great team. I am not a Canucks fan because I am not a fan of some of their fans. Situations like tonight only reinforce why they don't get my support ever.

I don't think it's really a reflection of Canucks fans (although they are Canucks fans so you know they aren't that bright

) so much as a reflection on the city of Vancouver itself.

Win or lose there was going to be a riot because a small group of idiots, likely not even hockey fans, was hell bent on having a riot and they had a perfect excuse.

100% agree. It's a embaresment to the city and all of Canada aswell as any true hockey fans. Alot of my friends were going for Vancouver and I could never cheer for a team like that. Boston was really Canada's team this year and I'm so glad they won it. Also did anyone notice all the crap thrown on the ice when Timmy T was getting his trophy. Had a bottle roll right by his feet. Just pure class out of a small group of fans that decided to be idiots! I hope vancouver doesn't win the cup for another 40 years. Unless there is big changes in their fan base because they don't deserve it in my opinion. Anyways that's my 2 cents

Boston definately deserved it. I think the fans were booing and throwing stuff at bettman to be fair. He's not well liked. Had a few conversations with some friends in Van last night they were just discusted with the behavior of their "ppor sport" fans. Either way it went the riots still would have happened I'd like to think though there would have been a lot less damage and especially VIOLENCE if vancouver had won. Just a big skid mark in canada'a underwear as far as I'm concerned.

There's ALWAYS a few idiots in every crowd. It was Bettman that took the worst of it. I don't like the guy either, but the way they treated him was despicable, show a little class for crying out loud.

I was actually really impressed by the number of fans that stayed in the stadium for the Cup presentation and cheered for the Bruins. They even gave Thomas a pretty good ovation when he was presented the Conn Smythe trophy. I gained a little respect for the Vancouver fans based on that.

Yeah Tim Thomas is a pimp!! I'd say he deserves the hart trophy as well!! I'll be in BC for about 3 weeks this July I'm wearing my Boston jersey every day!!

First off, congrats to the Bruins and Tim Thomas. Pure class and dedication. As for the turds in Vancouver that rioted and acted like criminals, I hope they got pictures of them destroying stuff. Bring them to court and hand them a bill for the damages. There are lots of loud mouth little drunk punks in all cities. White Ave in Edmonton is no different on Canada Day. It's funny how fast they can go from all tough and mouthy to crying for their mommy when their face is leaking red.

Hats off to Boston, they deserved it and were awarded for their efforts. I am a die hard Flames fan and i know exactly how the fans and city of Vancouver feels. However their actions are a complete disgrace and embarrassment not only to them but to the country. In 04' we just had a pre-Stampede party after the Lightning beat us in 7. I don't even remember a beer bottle getting broke?
