What era would you live in if you could choose?
« on: February 22, 2016, 07:40:43 PM »
Thought this could be a interesting topic.
Myself and many I know for lack of a better way to say it feel like we where born in the wrong time and place so its not a isolated phenomenon
Personally I feel I  was born at least 150 yrs to late.
I could give up indoor plumbing and internal combustion with zero remorse.
Guns would be a little tougher to give up.

Not that being young in the 40's or 60's does not have a certain appeal as well though.
Dang sorry just noticed I posted in the hunting section by accident

If you were a r.c.m.p member involved with high river you are a disgrace to the uniform and a traitor to the citizens of this country.

Yes I have contemplated this many times myself. I wonder what this county would have been like 150 years ago. I know it would have been beautiful but I also know it was hard and tough. But I guess it would be all relevant as well. When it comes to northern Alberta I don't think a guy has to go back all that far to enjoy the peace and quiet and the abundance of game,, shoot 50 years will put you there.

If I had to choose an era,, I would pick the 1850's - 60's as a mountain man trapping the northern US, southern Canadian mountain ranges. I'm not a cowboy,, it doesn't really interest me never did,, but a bushman/mountain man,, yah that would be cool.
Westerner by birth, Canadian by law, Albertan by the grace of God.

Well the 1850's or so would be great, the vast country, the freedom and animals.  But with some of the injuries I have had with the activities I done,I wouldn't be alive and with my family today, without modern medical care. So I would have to pick here and now.
