What in the Dickens is going on in the Bighorn
« on: November 30, 2018, 03:27:18 PM »
Take a look at the new Getty...whoops.. Notley legacy.  The Bighorn.

https://talkaep.alberta.ca/bighorn-country

Makes a lot of folks feel reeeeel good. Don't it?  But underlying this "great NDP" project are the Yellowstone to Yukon group, and  every other bunch of enviro-parasites, and enviro-maggots  sitting in the sidelines looking for a gutpile of tax dollars.

Comments from Alberta Sportsman members please.

Paul:  Do you have any local information for us?

Thanks.

Hopefully they are ousted before they get their grubby little fingers on to too much in this province, only a couple more months boys.

It is a done deal just like the Castle. They threw away the south saskatchewan regional plan and did what they wanted. Notley had meetings at Pincher Creek where just select people who were in her corner were invited.  Shannon Phillips was caught  in Lethbridge having meetings with Y2Y members. Did all that matter?  Not in the least. The Castle plan people with horses like it as they still have access. Either pedal bike not e bike, horses or walk.  Did not matter about all the donated money and work the Quad Squad had done to control the quads.  Places you could drive a truck to for hunting you can no longer drive on those roads.  It gets worse as in 2020 they will close down the remaining roads that they let the quads use.  You could see the hunters from there went to the Porcupine Hills and they had three or four pickups parked at every parking area off of highway 22.  Ranchers had there fences run over by this increased hunting pressure.
In the Bighorn they are doing the same thing throwing away the North Saskatchewan Regional Plan and doing what Y2Y wants them do do.
The people in France are having demonstrations and riots over the carbon tax.  just saying!

Well it was bound to happen people keep tearing up those hills with those big machines. Unfortunate part is they are going to start to come east now, like we need more traffic over here.

No one is tearing up any hills in the Bighorn. Outside of the PLUZ- perhaps....It’s all PLUZ and VERY few designated trails as it stands.

I suggest if anyone here cares, they get informed, involved, and have their voices heard. Don’t believe the promises of access and limited loss of rights. They made the same promises in the Castle area and didn’t honor them. That was just a warm up for this.

On Facebook, there are a few groups that are active and have a lot of info. “This is my Nordegg- Advocating....” is one. “Say no to Alberta’s loss....” is another.

This is a disaster for Albertans. $40 million dollar initial price tag to establish new parks and a HUGE PLUZ all the area between highway 22 and the trunk road from highway 1 to highway 16 (approx). No random camping, no OHV use other than designated trails.

The “public” consultations are a farse. They are not allowing anyone but a select few participate.

Did not stand idly by and allow this to happen!!

So what is after the Bighorn.  I figure north of Hinton and Edson will be the next target for Notley to close down.

The excuses will be:

Block cutting between Hinton and Grande Prairie is more like clear cutting these days. And when is this land going to be replanted?

And when are all the abandoned or finished well sites going to be reclaimed to their original status or better( as the land man always tells you).

And why should anyone NEED to hunt in Willmore and the Kakwa?

Unfortunately there is some truth to the above claims excluding the Willmore or Kakwa situation.

All part of a program like creating little National Parks.  LOOK but DON'T TOUCH.

There are laws requiring replanting on clearcuts.

There are laws and HUGE bonds in place for reclamation of wellsites and pipelines. I hear the AER is hiring an enormous number of people to handle this side.

I do agree, part of this is a step to create more national parks, however I doubt the Feds want this as the cost will be shared across the country, as opposed to Albertans.

After they created the Castle Park they then went into zone 402 north of highway 3.  They called it the Livingston PLZ area. They came out with a poorly thought out map where 4x4s and quads can go.  eg. they have a quad trail up the valley on the east side of crowsnest mountain and a quad trail up the valley on the west side of the mountain.  But the two trails do not meet to form a circle.  The road to form a circle is there but you cannot ride on it.
They have a bunch of short rides where you have to take your quad by truck to a staging area ride a couple of km and then back to the truck.
Want to use your truck to get into your favorite area like you always have done. You will be in for a surprise as they have limited where you can take your vehicle.  Want to use a vehicle or quad  to pull out your animal well forget it not allowed.
What happened with the formation of Castle Park where hunters though why bother with all their rules and the hunters went to the Porcupine Hills which also has many new restrictions. There were so many hunters in the area on the Nov.11 long weekend that it created many problems like Ranchers having their fences torn down.
The bottom line is people want to go out camping with their families or hunting and fishing and the new rules are very frustrating.

You know I play by all the rules don’t do this, can’t keep that, limit this, even go as far as to get fire wood permit, yup fairly honest and give fair chase.

But **** this Bighorn park Shit catch me if you can and when you do oh well pay a fine big deal.

I am at that point, of screw em and their tags!

And I just got a call to participate in a phone call open forum tomorrow from NDP Shannon Blow your Cannon Phillips on the Bighorn not less than five minutes after your post Jimmy Bob 808. What the Hexx.

I have also been called by the NDP several weeks ago in some phone call open forum to help teachers.

Someone has my name and number.  Must be the folks from that other forum I gave permission to hunt on my land.

I am not happy. All permission to enter my properties is now cancelled as of right now, and I will file trespassing charges against anyone I find on my properties.

P.S. Someone please post this on the other forum.

Everything that Artie and Doug have said.

Artie. if you have anything else to say, please post it. If your "Belgian" hunting buddy has something to say please send his thoughts as well.

And I will mention a few other things that have changed drastically since I first visited that area in 1967 hunting and fishing with my father and friends.

Not you Jimmy Bob. No way. Sorry if I upset you. I could not ever accuse you as an NDP operative for coming after  me. Absolutely Never.

Now, if I have a different shotgun opinion than you...yes. But never as working for the NDP.  Calm down for heavens sake.

I gave hunting permission to some fellows on the other forum several years ago.  I think they must be having some fun with me. They are teachers and government employess.

I don't consider phone calls from the NDP to be much fun.  So now it is time for me to have some fun.

So...

Someone has hunted your land gave your phone number to someone that thinks highly of your opinions in the NDP and has asked to have a round table discussion about the bighorn proposal?

In turn you have shut down hunting on your land?

Not really,  The RCAF fellows are always welcome, and they know it.

Program shut down at 7:30. No time to answer my quieries.  Just another staged piece of crap by Notely. Well Artie and the boys. You are so correct on how Notley is operating in this province. Treating the voters like a bunch of suckers. Not good.

I did not waste my time however when I was waiting on the phone. Went on the internet looking for the 2019 new lines of guns.  I know most won't be seen until after the SHOT show, but what the heck.

And went to CGN to kick some turds for the fun of it.  I did note a CTV news poll was made with 67% Alberta separation. Yikes :o. I have not seen this before. Even in NEP 1.  The Poll was closed prematurely. I have no reason why. >:(

Well someone voted this joke of a party into majority power, they can and will do whatever they want. The scary part is I’m not so sure the NDP won’t get in next election.

Shannon is trying to bling up the back country to make it a little more appealing for those who find wild places a little to wild and don't believe in balance as far as access opportunities go whether it be by the public or industry.  That is the long and short of what is going on in the bighorn.
