where to buy argo parts?
« on: August 20, 2011, 11:01:25 PM »
not to sure if this is the correct place to post this but i feel i will get a few more views on it here... just wondering where is the best/cheapest place to buy parts for an argo... i finally picked up my argo today that my granny left to me when she passed a few years ago... it is  kinda weathered ... the chains and sprockets and axles were all replaced 10 years ago and it was never really used again... now they are all rusty so im thinking of replacing again... im confident it will run after i change out the gas and give it a tune up... but i would like to rebuild the carb as well... so ill be looking for parts for that... maybe a member has a machine kicking around with some spare parts that he doesnt need anymore... id be interested in buying if you do...

Try CN Argo in Calgary Wildmeat, they might have some parts around or if not they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Well I suppose no new Agro parts will be cheap.

Someone should start a used Argo parts store, there's enough of them around that I am sure a guy could do pretty good at it.

I have 2 guys that can fix them for a great price.  One is $40 and one is $60 and hour.  %15 on parts.  I just had mine done.  The one guy worked for Argo for years and now just fixes them on his own time.  Great guy.  PM me if interested.

One of the guys I gave you info for has an Argo a guy left him as it was going to cost too much for parts.  Maybe he has a lot of what you need.  Sounds like you are going to call them so good luck with it.  I find Argos a pain already as a owner as little of a couple months ;D  Seems like always something on them to fix

If the chains and sprockets were replaced and then never really used, why don't you just spend some time cleaning them up.  They won't be worn so a with a bit of elbow grease (and some real stuff), there's no reason you can't still use them.  You may still need to replace the chains if they are completely seized, but if they haven't been run very much, just take it to a parts store and get them to make some new ones, rather than try to buy them from an argo dealer.  You would save yourself a bit right there I would think...
