I too think we might be seeing a lot of WSS stuff at the local UFA store.  Barbed wire and goose decoys seem to be familiar with same kind of people.

Yet if Bass Pro is involved...Are they not owned by the same people who own Cabalas?

Cabela's and Bass Pro same now. Wholesale and UFA same people. ( I know captain obvious) just to clarify.  Crap show no matter what. Support the little guys is what I think, if they  keep their price in line. Few bucks more is ok because their small.

Stopped in to WSS today and wow there is a lot of empty shelve space there I tell ya.

But the rifle rack was still full,go figure.I didn't price any guns but I did notice Sales tags on all of them.

Picked up 10 boxes of Remington low brass field load for $7.60 per box which was pretty good.Also to bricks of American Eagle .22lr for $35 per brick.And 10 packs of percussion caps for $4.19 each.

BTW these prices were with 30% off.

They had a few boxes of 28,20 and 16 gauge ammo but even with 30% off it was still $21 per box,screw that.You can do better at Cabelas if you shop their sales.

And didn't see any .308 or .30-06 just so you know.

 Right on.Haven't step foot in there since the news they were closing. All reports are like yours sonny, some things ok, some not. Guns are a bad deal for sure. Now I think this gun was a good deal. Italian made Sabtti Rover 30-06,  action based on a modified Mauser style, I think. Close copy of the Rem 700, mounts are the same anyway. $625.00 shipping free, Black Friday sale at Marstar.  Even came with a CERTIFICATO of CALIBRO, no pizza though. Mamma Mia. Just got it today so I will know more when I scope it and take to range.

And I'd say maybe a couple dozen bricks of the American Eagle but lots of loose boxes also.

I saw one sale of six firearms at the till . Absolutely Beautiful.  Some really nice folks are going to be getting some really nice Christmas presents.

No Remington  or Federal shotgun target stuff.

I bought half a black Whitting cape for 50 percent off....twenty five bucks..for half a chicken hide.

Some Fly tying thread in different colours at half price. That is OK.

And some "Spirit River" Special Ultra Violet treated rabbit hair to interest trout at the end of the visible spectrum. God I am sucker for this fly fishing racket. 60 percent off.

All the really high end nice expensive stuff is gone. Except for fishing hooks.

I'll end up doing more shopping at local stores, screw the big yanky store, I'll go there as very little as I possibly can. Our CT in Cold Lake runs a pretty good sporting goods center especially the fishing department and Poachers Corner in Glendan is my hunting store. For some hooks and fishing gear I've started to do more on line shopping. Put in my orders while I'm at work and by the time I'm home it's here waiting for me, works great.

Canadian tire really does seem to want to be a player in sporting goods.  Nice to see IMO. 

If nothing else soccer mom's walking past the gunrack in sporting goods will eventually make it seem normal, unlike the push from gov't last couple decades.

Had to buy a refill lighter for my little MicroJet Lighter torch that I carry in my hunting backpack because the old one was leaking butane.
Well I was surprised Canuck Tire had the replacement lighter refill.
They had to get one of the 15 year kids that work there to carry it up to the till for me though.  Like really, it is a lighter.  How insulting...screw them.

When our society is going to hell, and we are inconvenienced to death by stupidity, and nobody cares, doesn't mean some of us with some moral fiber and some common sense don't get perturbed.
Society is conforming to the lowest common denominator and is caving into pure stupidity.  Count me out on that.
Like how the hell is having a kid carry a lighter to the till for me doing anybody any good.  Stores rules though.
Just like they lock up the blue 14.1 oz propane cylinders behind glass and need a escorted carry to the till, yet the green 16.4 oz bottles are on the shelf in the camping section ready to drop into your basket.  Doesn't make any sense at all.  I asked a manager about that and she said it was for safety reasons.  I asked her how having a propane cylinder locked in a glass unventilated cabinet right next to an oxygen bottle is increasing safety and why the camping green propane bottles are safer.  She looked at me like I had two heads.

I worry more about larger things, like terrorists coming to Canada for a free for all. Not some kid doing his job as the manager tells him. Life is too short.
