Got down to the river yesterday with a fellow from work. We put in a solid 9 hrs on the water with moderate luck. The small walleye were active but not to much for decent sized fish, a couple in the 3 pound range but other than that all small stuff. managed a few Goldeye and a couple Sauger as well. No sturgeon to be had. Buddies boat is kind of large for the river so we were limited to where e could go so I never had much of a chance to find any deep holes to try. Had a nice bar b on the boat for lunch that was a nice treat.  Still a good day though had some fun..

Good work.   :)
You will know when there are sturgeon around as they like to jump on their own from time to time.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Walleyes, I found a very informative document on Sturgeon in the NSR.  It has a map in it of the known sturgeon holes in the NSR and based on my experience in my area it is very accurate.

http://srd.alberta.ca/FishWildlife/SpeciesAtRisk/SpeciesAtRiskPublicationsWebResources/Fish/documents/SAR-LakeSturgeon-RecoveryPlan-A-Oct2012.pdf

Map is Figure 9 on page 12 in the contents or page 23 on the pdf.

Lots of sturgeon holes out your way on the eastern part of the river, Terry.
