Big Spring Rainbows
« on: May 06, 2012, 10:11:01 PM »
I was up to Dolberg with PaulC (weeman) today.  It was windy and cold for most of the day.  The ice went off 4 or 5 days ago.  We got some nice fish but Paul really stepped up with 3 really nice bows of which 2 were really spectacular colored males.  I will post the pics of the 2 males which were almost identical.  He has the even bigger female on his camera and will post later as he is having computer troubles.

The day was cold and windy but it was a lot of fun. Thanks goes to Axeman for rescuing one fish that I accidently let go on the fish stringer. He jumped into the water and grabbed the end of the fish stringer just as the fish was swimming away.
He didnt seem to mind and had to ring out his shoes and socks. Its just another fishin trip.  ;)

Axeman did such a good job helping me land those rainbows I would consider his application for Pro-Staffer.

Here is Momma Rainbow.  Right full of eggs.
I don't want to be no stinkin Pro-Staffer....lol.
Last two times at Dolberg I got wet to the knees; last fall one day before it froze over and this spring a couple of days after ice off.
Most important of all is the last pic of my old Mitchell 301a, still going strong after catching countless fish for 30 years.

Big Spring Rainbows Video by Vintage Reprise
« Reply #13 on: May 09, 2012, 11:36:36 AM »
This early morning I went to dolberger to shoot some professional video of me fishing and the technique used to catch those tanks. The video will be released in June pending any editing I have to do.
Vintage Reprise shot the video which took about 3 hours to do. It will blow you away seeing me catching those big rainbows. The trout were released as well.
