Bulls and Brown trout

ever caught.  Released to eat grayling and grow to a huge size for later!  Went back down with my jigging rod and one chased the lures all over finally hit the fly but pulled out at the hole.  That was it had to go pick up the family for checkout.

Two firsts two days in a row finished off 2014 nicely.  Bring on 2015.

Happy new year everyone!

ThanKS sorry the story got cut off here is the rest of the story.
Tuesday fished upper kananaskis in am for first time. Temp -31 brŕr. Caught first bulls through the ice. A nice one about 3-4 pounds another about 14 inch. Caught on rainbow pattern HD ice trout jig by dynamic lures. Didn't realize if you want to catch the cutts they are suspended way off the bottom until I talked to a guy coming off ice who caught three.

Tried lower k for an hour nothing marking and two groups left after I arrived and of the 7 guys sounded like only one had been hooked and none landed.

Went back to upper k for last light for nothing... no more fish.

Today had to check out of banff so left the family sleeping and high tailed it to canmore to fish quarry lake for a couple hours. Put the jaw jacker down and started jigging the smallest cicada in gold and green. Right away one came in and chased it around on the Marcum but no bite. Tied on a dropper fly and soon after another came in but bit the cicada... I missed the hookup though. Then bam jaw jacker. Screening drag rod bent over. Thought I had a monster grayling.... then something was wrong with the colors flashing below the ice. A Brown trout! Sweet first brown through the ice and biggest brown I ever caught. Released to eat grayling and grow to a huge size for later! Went back down with my jigging rod and one chased the lures all over finally hit the fly but pulled out at the hole. That was it had to go pick up the family for checkout.
