Cold Lake Slaughter.
« on: February 16, 2020, 12:44:25 PM »
This is the scene out on Cold Lake today. There had to be 150 set ups out there if there was 1. I say the slaughter because how many of those people know or care how to properly handle a trout. Lakers are extreme bleeders at the best of times. Do to the size limit you have to go through 50 fish to get a legal one and when you do why would you want it. How many of those fish make it and how many die I think we wouldn’t care to know.
I don’t know what the answer is for this lake, I know at this rate it’s not going to last long and the size rate is going to get smaller and smaller. I’m witnessing first hand the killing off of a potential world class trout fishery.

The tent set ups were so thick and tight off of some of the points you couldn’t see daylight through them.

Thanks to social media and guys like fishing geeks that can’t keep the lip zipped of where they are at we get the destruction of a fishery.

Get a petition with locals to close the lake , Incessantly call F&W , provincial
 biologist .....
Welcome to my world , people pissed and moaned down here about the
Fish killing going on in local reservoirs , now they are all closed .....
100 fish days on lakes that are collapsed ..what a crock of shit ....

The stress imposed on those Cold Lake fish is sickening, And it is getting worse and worse and worse over the decades.

Nothing will be done about it. There is no political will to act.
