Dickson Trout pond
« on: February 11, 2015, 09:48:35 AM »
Thought I would post a few pics of our catches from years past. Been having great luck dragging out some of the brood fish that have been planted in there.
Trolling has been the answer to landing the fatties. In the one picture, the young lady in the bow landed her fish within 15 minutes on the water. Later she was complaining about only catching little fish. I'm sure many will be jealous of her luck. Eventually she will realize how lucky she was.
Hope to see some of you on the water this year.

Here are a few more..
Other than the couple that I smoked, we have been putting them back.
The fatty soaking in the sink was a New Years day catch. Made for a delicious dinner. But after cleaning one, and finding cigarette butts in it I have stopped keeping them. Can I start shooting smokers who think their butts are supposed to go on the ground or in the water? Starting to feel that's the only way people will stop that disgusting habit.

Nice fish, Dave.

I found cig butts in some rainbows I caught at Bellis Pond once as well.  Disgusting!
Wonder why the fish eat them....never tried one for bait.  ;)
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Darn nice fish Davw.

Personely I don't care for any pond raised fish for the table, just not the same as a fish out of large cold water. But still fun to catch,

Thx for sharing the pics.

The New Years day fish was quite tasty and firm. The cold water makes the difference. If the weed growth is getting thick I toss all back because they start to taste as good as a warm pike. Simply can't stand the taste. The couple I smoked were late spring fish that were on the end of eating. Unfortunately that's pond fishing.
