Ever tried crabbing in BC? (pics)

 I didnt see a section to post this odd hobby of mine. if its in the wrong section, can a mod move it?

anyway,

I moved from calgary a while ago and now im in BC. first thing was i went salmon fishing. it was awesome, then i saw crabbers on their inflatable boats.

long story short,....1 year later.......

We pulled some crab traps last time I was fishing in BC no issues if you want to share your website here love crab and crab fishing myself. If you really want throw some in a cooler and send them out here crabber!

A bunch of years ago I went "crabbing" a few times out near Ladner BC.  Not with traps though.

We checked the tide chart and picked a fast falling big tide.  Then we went out to a really flat shore line.
As the tide dropped it formed little rivers of water rushing out to the sea.  The crabs were in these rivers running down stream to stay in the water and not get stranded.  We would carry a gunny sack tied to our belts and walk in sneekers in the rivers and carefully step on a big crab then reach carefully under foot to pick it up.

We got heaps of them and had a big feed of fresh crab and home made wine.

Love crabbing and prawning as well.. Couple pics from over the years.










This is a home built puller I built a couple years back,, works great. In this video it is pulling a double set of prawn traps from about 300 feet..
