This thread makes me regret having any length/weight measurements posted...it played out just like a thread at that other place.  I wish I knew why, but I know there are a couple out there who have a chip on their shoulder towards me (Remember how the Karma thing worked out?) but whatever it is, why not grow a pair and tell me what your issue is with me and let's get past this.  Really, are we in high school again?  (This goes beyond this thread and the posters in it...but those in question know who they are...and if this is out of line then I trust that the mods will edit it and give me the proverbial slap on the wang, but I'm getting seriously tired of the games)

Apparently there are a couple charts that have different results on them that don't agree.  I don't have a lot of experience with these fish in general to know a lot about what they weigh, and after being told by the fish cops that they DON"T want you to weigh them...well...how's a guy to know for sure?

Just puttin' it out there...

Good stuff guys.  I think I recognize that spot.  It looks like the water treatment plant just south of Fort Saskatchewan?  I never would have thought to catch a sturgeon there.  I have always wanted to do it and just need to find time to go do it.  I'm going to try and get the kids out in the next few weeks here and hopefully will have a few pictures to share.

Nope, and I don't want to advertise the spot *too* much, for obvious reasons.

Shoot me a PM and I'm sure I can arrange to bring ya out sometime though  8)

I have been there a few times but to look at the mule deer running around.  I noticed a lot of guys fished there.  Is there a deep hole in there?  Seems like it would be quite shallow.

It's really hard to say...word on the street (genereally speaking) is that after the water got really high a lot of holes in the river kind of filled in with silt.  That being said, I've heard people say there's a hole there, and I've also heard from one person that took a jet boat out there and scanned it with the sonar and said that there's really no hole to speak of.

From my experience fishing from shore, I don't think there's a hole.  I do know there's a section where it gets really shallow.  I also know there's a fresh tree out there (guys are still ripping off branches with green leaves).  But beyond that it's just a bit of a slow spot in the river.

Let me know when you're heading out there and I'll do my best to try to come join you :)
