got the boat wet on Thursday
« on: April 21, 2013, 06:01:56 PM »
I ended up getting out Thursday evening in the boat for a few hours to chase some walleyes.

It was kind of slow but I ended up with a few bites and a legal eye.

Here is the one I landed that night. I also did a shore trip a week earlier and landed a legal that night also.

 ;D

Stay tuned.

I am hoping to have more pics after next weekend. I am trying to arrange to get out there with the 5th wheel to spend the whole weekend out on the water in my boat.

The only way I can get my boat wet is if I take it to the car wash.. :'(

It is suppose to hit double digits for the temps this coming weekend so I plan on being out in the boat and 5th wheel for the entire weekend.

Hopefully I will have some more pics on Sunday night or Monday to post.

Made it out again Friday evening and got into a few more eyes but nothing legal.

I was suppose to get out today again but the wind down here was nuts and I can't launch or load my boat alone in the wind at this particular lake so I had to hold off.

Hopefully tomorrow brings some decent weather and a partner that isn't going to bail on me because of a bit of wind.  ;D

Sounds like your getting a good start anyways.. Still a ways away here, with this warm weather we are having we will be set for the long weekend though.

Well I have 4 open water walleye trips in the boat this year now and plan to have 2-3 more by the end of this coming weekend if the weather isn't to nasty.

The fish I am finding seem to still be in prespawn and are pretty tough to get to eat.

I have hooked into a few but it isn't the constant action I am used to in post spawn eyes. You really have to work to get a bite.

The last fish I ended up getting yesterday was in a foot of water along a rocky shoreline. After hooking that one I picked small jigs along the entire shoreline hoping to get into some more shallow water fish but couldn't find anything.

Hahahaha,

Here you go Walleyes.

Made it out with my dad today for the last day out before the walleye opener down here in the south on wed.

We had a slow start to the day but ended up getting in to quite a few after figuring things out.

Here is my biggest of the day which measured a hair over 60cm.

+23 down here today.

All the other walleye lakes open on May 8th so I should hopefully have a bunch more pics over the next few weeks.

I will be prefishing Chin to prepare for my first tourney which is just under 3 weeks away now.

Wow! That's a nice wallie! The weather is looking amazing for most of this week so should be a great chance for you to get out more :) good luck in the tourney in a few weeks!!!

Thanks,

I hope I can do as good or better then last year and keep climbing the team of the year ladder.

If I can get into a limit of fish around that size in each tourney I should have a pretty good chance at staying near the top.

I plan to be out a ton before the tourney to try and put a plan together.
