Hey guys a few friends and myself had a fishing trip planned for the last week in June. Due to unforeseen circumstances it was cancelled and shoved ahead to the last week in July. I was very disappointed and can't go then. My wife is coming to stay for a few weeks vacation the end of July and she already has her vacation timed and plane tickets bought. ( Oh whow is heartbroken me!...kidding...
Anyrate, this is an annual trip that some of the Mistatim boys take every year. One of them is a close friend of mine and now that I'm living in Sk, I was asked to come along. On Friday nights I usually go up to Mistatim and spend some time in the bar talking to the boys. Garfield and his brother have been going to this lake for 20+ years and the stories they tell about the big lakers and pike they have caught really got me excited. (they say to bring along steel gear, the fish are that big)
Anyrate, I would still like too take the trip and was thinking of doing so around the end of Aug or first of Sept, (dates flexible). It's a lake about 3 or 4 hours N.E. of P.A. You can either fly in or drive. They brag of trophy Pike, Walleye and Lake Trout in there. Most of 2 days is consumed driving and setting up camp unless you want to book a cabin and go equals on cost. I think we should have at least a minumum of 3-4 days fishing. The more the merrier...I am semi-retired and very flexible time wise.
I was thinking if we could get about 3-6 people interested, maybe two boats, or rent one up there, the trip would be very doable. I have a 14' lowe with a 25HP merc on er. Could fit 3 comfortably.
I know it's a long ways to come from Alberta but it could be the trip of a lifetime for some. You could always come here to my cabin a day or 2 before we leave, I got room for a couple inside and the holiday trailer sleeps 2 or 3. Also lots of room to pitch a tent on the lawn too. The cabin would be a good starting point.....
Please, only serious takers inquire...... We did a moose trip up on the Chin last year and had about a dozen people interested to come along. We were looking for 3 guys and everyone backed out except for 1. With all due respect to everyone, I don't want to go through that again, phone calls, setting up appts to meet people for coffee, etc, you know what I'm saying.
Anyrate, PM me if you are interested and I will give you some more detail and send you a website of the lake we will be fishing. Can send you a goggle map of lake too.
Like I said, I would rather drive up (cheaper) but as far as accomodations go, pitching a tent or renting a cabin is fine with me, you decide. I'm sure we could work something out with the outfitters if we were to rent a cabin and needed another boat. I'm open to any ideas or suggestions you might have.
Thanx!
