kananaskis or lougheed park hikes
« on: May 16, 2014, 12:20:05 PM »
hey all!!!
doing research for a summer trip.
anyone have any hints or tips on easy to moderate hikes in the kananaskis and peter lougheed area?
we'll be taking our little 5 yr old up to chase some trout.
he's up for the task but realistically we're keeping it to moderate difficulty.
hoping for amazing views and eager fish!!
Never met a fish I didn't like!!

Elbow Lake comes to mind as being fairly easy, with hungry brookies to keep your little one interested.  Sparrow's Egg Lake is also pretty easy to get to, although the vegetation near shore and soft bottom can make it tough to fish without a float tube.  I wouldn't doubt if Sparrow's Egg winter killed this year though.
