Catching cats out of Lockport is an absolute blast!  I lived in Winnipeg for a bit and got to enjoy the world class Channel Catfish fishery a few times.  It is a bucket list trip for any Canadian fisherman for sure.  Here I am back holding a nice cat with my buddy Todd, back in 2005.  Unfortunately Todd is up in the sky fishing for those big cats now, as he lost a battle with cancer.  I will always remember those days and be thankful for the time spent fishing with him.

My guide said they like to cook em up , once in awhile . Fillet them and cut them into chunks and cook em in Cajun seasoning .

Sweet pics guys. How many do you normally catch in a day? When is the best time to go for them?  Yes that is on my top 2 or 3 this year to do.

My buddies liked the middle of June, and would make a trip there at that time each year.  Fishing was great, and they would have 40 + fish days.  I just came out in the evenings, and fishing was always good.

I also put in a picture of a Greenback as they call them in Manitoba.  The walleye are emerald green on the back like I had never seen anywhere else.  Getting to fish the Red River, Winnipeg River, and Lake Winnipeg was a real treat.

Treat each day as your last; one day you will be right.
