Open invite to a couple new members.
« on: May 10, 2011, 09:31:32 AM »
I am planning on hitting 40-Mile res tomorrow evening for an early fish. I do not expect it to be great this early in the year but you never know. So I will put out an open invite for a couple members that may want to join me in my boat for the afternoon and evening.

I am in Medicine Hat and my place is easy to find to meet up or we can meet at the lake or what ever works. The whole package is supplied by me even if you don't have a fishing rod I have plenty extra. I run a beauty of a boat with tons of room. I know the lake fairly well so it could be fun..

P.S. there are absolutely no inhibitions in my boat what ever makes you happy I am good with. I personally quit drinking a few months ago but you do what ever you please. The only thing is I will let you know now.. My boat is my baby I am exxxxtremely picky with it. I use it for what it needs but no abuse please.

Yup we made it out,, just got back from the lake about 9:30..

And yes it was windy not horrible but windy,, no sweat in my tub though I don't think they could make em big enough for me on that lake to worry.

Any how we anchored for a bit on one of our holes but after about an hr of nothing we pulled anchor and used the wind and we just drift fished. Using the trolling motor to keep close to the bank and in our depth range we fished about 4 miles of lake in 4.5hrs. As I thought it was slow but we did manage a few fish. 1 dandy female walleye and 4 decent pike in the 4 - 6 pound range.. Nothing huge but they felt good on the gear.

I know some won't believe it but all the fish we caught were female and yup they all still had their eggs,, those pike were as fat as could be plumped rite up with eggs. I gave one a gentle and yes full of eggs.. Water temp at surface is still only at 45 deg.. We are going to need some good rains to get the temp up and get things rolling.
