Our West Coast Trip Video
« on: August 24, 2019, 01:53:33 PM »
Short video or our trip I did up guys hope you enjoy.

Little shaky on the drone  on some of the footage but it will come along. It’s a little nerve wracking too flying your $1400 drone around open water, tell that one to momma if it goes in the drink lol.

Anyways hope you guys enjoy as I know we sure do love our time out there.

Thanks Walleyes:  My most favourite part was hauling that sea chicken up from the depths.

Question: Did you have any dogfish issues?

Lol the first day on that hole we anchored and it didn’t take long for the dogs to hone in on us. After the 4th four footer we said enough and pulled anchor and headed in for the day.

Great video Walleyes, just to short, need about another 1000 hours or so. Gotta love time with the kids, life takes some of that away when they get into the world.  :'(

That's a beautiful boat... looks like you are rigged and ready to go out tuna fishing with that boat!!!  Let me know if you need company, haha!

Yah thinking maybe one of these years I might try it. I want to go on a charter though first and see if it’s something I want to get into. That’s a tough fishery for someone that doesn't live out there though as you’ve got to be ready to go when it’s time to go you can’t really plan that fishery months ahead.

You are correct... even for me.  It is more like taking a late salmon trip end of August, begining of september and if the weather is right an ocean temps look good just head out to give it a try.  It really doesn't take much different gear.  Just some halibut boat rods, or hand lines.  The lures are pretty basic, even some saltwater Rapalas.  I pretty much have everything I need... besides the know how to find em skillz.  Oh well maybe one day I'll do some more research and maybe once I have Radar on the boat I'll give it a shot.
