Perch
« on: June 13, 2011, 10:56:56 AM »
I have a couple of nieces that want to catch some perch.  I have caught them in the winter in Gull but have never tried in the summer.  They were quite shallow when I caught them thru the ice.  Do they go deep?

I was expecting to drop leeches into weed pockets off of breaks and points but don't really have a strategy if they go deep.

Any tips?  I don't need big old jumbos.  They just want to catch perch.  I offered to take them to PCR for Walleye but they would like the little fishies.

I am also considering Grassy and Forty Mile.  I have heard the perch population is pretty decent down there.

Once I finish my night courses I set you guys to come to Lake Sundance in Calgary to fish for perch...We have lots of perch in the lake...From what people have told me, they haven't been biting much yet but when they do it would be an experience that your nieces would love...And yes there are lots of little ones....
Treat each day as your last; one day you will be right.

I wonder if Cow is still producing decent sized perch?

Thanks for the replies fellas.  Any others have any info on water depth they can be found at in the summer?
