Just got back from our trip to Pigeon Lake and we had a blast.
Got there Friday and it was windy, rainy and we had thunder boomers. Also just for good measure lets throw in a tornado warning.
Luckily no funnel clouds but that storm cell went from east to west about 8 km north of pigeon lake.
Saturday was much better, sunny, light wind and the walleye were committing suicide. A jig with a minnow was the ticket, pink jig seemed to work best. I never tried those leeches as they died about 10 days ago. I told my six year old grandson that if a fish puts up a good fight then you have to give it a thank you kiss and he did.
Sunday morning we had a couple of tags left and we filled those right away and had them for lunch, mmm.. what can I say.
Sunday afternoon it was crazy windy with whitecaps as far as you could see. Also late Sunday afternoon we took a drive to the boat launch and what a gong show it was, makes you want to shake your head. lol
This morning we packed it up and headed home with more memories.
