pigeon tags filled!!!
« on: June 15, 2014, 11:53:04 PM »
slow morning. windy, rough, slow.....
finally found a feeding pod and the action was hot'n'heavy!!!!!!
only got 1 in the first 2 hrs....8-10 in the afternoon....about 40 in the last hour after we found em!!!!
super fun!!!! aggressive bite, good average size small ones were mid 40 cm and lots over 50. kept our limit of 55-60 cm eyes.
also lost a HOG burbot right at the net!!! totally unexpected. sucky to lose him. was a good 7-8 lber!!!
Never met a fish I didn't like!!

very nice.  Looked like a great day.  Always fun when you get in the action after some hunting.

Nice,, enjoy them.

Just a question, those tags how water proof are they could you stick a fish in the live well to keep it fresh and not have the tag fall off.

hey thanks guys!
was a fun day out!
the tags are par for the course for everything f&g have done. they're really mickey mouse.
of the 4, 2 did come off and float around the live well.
they're paper and wire. stupid.
they should use a zip tie like they do on "Swamp People" or something! :P

Mine stayed on. I also went by a boat that probably had 6 walleyes on a stringer in the water and theirs looked fine as well.

thats good to hear.
i'm just sayin theres way better, commonly used choices out there than frikkin paper and wire.
hate to be the guy who loses a tag and needs to explain a kept walleye with no tag to a fish cop.
a little reliability would be good.
