I know many of us fish the rivers and the levels, flow rates, and water clarity are always changing. I found a very useful link that provides real time and historical data for many of the rivers in alberta. This resource provides the trend history monthly, annually, and real time data every 15 minutes in some cases. Rainfalls and snow melt in the mountains can greatly affect the flow rates on a day to day basis in many of our local rivers so it is great to be able to study the flows and trends before going out.
I went to a spot on the lower Pembina yesterday that has been very good for walleye in the past for me. The flow was a bit fast and the water pretty muddy yet but this link showed me that the recent rains out west caused a fairly high spike in the flow rates over the last week or so but the levels are dropping fast. It should be a matter of just a few days until the conditions should be right to hammer the walleyes again. This is a great tool:
