Special Day

Wow what a day started when Adwittoutdoors came in from Edmonton at just after 7am he was up at 3.15am.. we had breakfast and headed for the lake .. it took a short walk and we were fishing and the first on the lake .. Ashley was surprised how shallow we were fishing and with in a hour I had a 5#6 on the ice then the fun started as people showed up .. 2 of my boys buddys showed up and they had a nice 4# white on the ice quickly .. so with that Ashley was getting disappointed with him only seeing one to the side of his hole .. so after a few hours I took a break and he came by my tent I said get in my tent and fish .. so he did as I walked over to the guys tent ..just as I got there the was some cursing and my tent almost tipped over as Ashley was hanging out my door .. I had to hurry over as I saw that he was in distress and grabbed the heater out of tent so he would not burn him self as he was on the bottom of tent with his knee in the double hole and having trouble getting up.. I had him up the hole and was trying to flip him on the ice when it turned and started back down the hole when I slipped he said and it was a big one ..the zipper of my tent ripped up his neck as you can see in picture
wow Ashley was ok just ego bruised a little as he had lost his battle with his first Jumbo White .. I had to smile as it was a major fight and I have lost so many so many ways that I had too also laugh a little and explain that I had done the same many times
Just as Shawn's parent show up on ice he was into a very nice Pike .. and what a battle it was taking about a half an hour .. Jim had been sitting with us watching the struggle but hadn't even seen a fish .. I as was watching the Pike seen .. I felt a tug and a another White fell to my hook ... Shawn got his 19#8oz Pike that measured in a 44 1/4 inches .. then Isaac got a 65cm Pike and Jim moved a bit with in 15 minutes Ken had his first and then another so the guys went over to join him and then as I went over Jim caught a PB Lake White at what you see on scale
too close the day off with Ashley I got another 5#6 oz White and he had a couple bites ..
Ashley know how I fish Lake Whites and may take it to a different lake to try his new skills
