Summer Perch Madness
« on: August 06, 2013, 04:46:00 PM »
Was fishing in Alberta last week and got to a bunch of lakes.  The fishing was great and the weather was perfect.  A couple days out I did some perch fishing and had some success off a mid lake hump using a drop shot type rish with a small jig and single hook tipped with a leach.  Tested out the Bait buttons and they really do work great to hold the bait in place.  Several times I'd get 2-3 hits a cast and still end up catching the fish, which means they weren't just swimming away with my bait everytime.  Made a video with more information if you're interested of the action.  Most of the perch were 10-12 inches.  They who time only caught about 3 smaller than that.  Also had luck catching a bunch of walleye in the same spot.
