Burris scopes
« on: April 11, 2016, 08:22:44 PM »
Picked up a Burris Fullfield II 2X7-35 scope today and slapped it on my 1895.. .45-70..

Dang that rifle kicks compared to my big loop.. :o

Anyway I only had one box of ammo and I got it shooting not to bad,3 inch groups @ 100yds.

But I know I can do better with more ammo and time.

So far I like the Burris scope (my first) and just want to know what others think of them.

I have a Burris on one of my 22 hornets, it has done well. I always felt people are funny with scopes, big thing now days is expensive  long range scopes. If I think back over the years most guys I hunt with have taken most of their game within 200 yards. And the norm for most of us at the range is 100 yards. I have always felt a middle of the road lens is the best. I have a few steel tube 4X scopes I have been using for years on the same guns and work fine today. Course most of my leavers and Muzzle Loaders  wear a peep sight, so with my old eyes I need to get closer yet. But over the last few years I have had more fun hunting the animal(close range) then shooting it. Good to see you so active with this stuff Sonny, makes me feel I'm not alone in my never ending  quest for gun stuff.

The optics people at Wholesale Sports in Edmonton told me they have seen Burris trying to squirm out of warranty service.

I guess there have been some unhappy customers who bought this brand.

I bought one package deal that had a Sako A7 paired with a Burise fullfield 11 3x9.
As the power increased it got more blurry and I really did not like it so I sold it for 100.00
Maybe it was a bad one or Burris just through the crappy ones in for the package deals but I was happy to see it gone.

Like i said mine is on a 22 hornet, never had it on a big gun, so can't say if will hold up to the recoil or not. If nothing else it is a good scope of the rimfire.
