Great day at the range
« on: March 29, 2015, 08:04:51 AM »
Spent Friday afternoon with the kids at the Red Deer F&G Assoc outdoor range. Sun was out and wind was almost non-existent down there. Tried a few different loads I'd worked up for my 338 RUM. Looks like I've landed on a load for now. I'm very happy with how it shoots. Perhaps I'll pack it in spring bear season.

The kids shot very well too. From varmint rifles to big game rifles, they were right in there. Jr sent some lead down range with the 338 and handled it very well. What a great way to spend an afternoon.

No iPads and/or iPods!!

Glad you had a good day ,It's always good to get out with family and spent time together. So what are you shooting for a load in your 338 Rum ?

Not much would walk away at a reasonable range.  Just would like to get 3 shots closer to an inch then I will call it good enough.

I have sail fish pics to share from this week but I see the wife has taken the memory cards.  Maybe monday I will have a fishing report.

Those accubonds are deadly .... Shot them in my 338 rum for a long time .. Moved on to the Berger and got better grouping. Have you tried retumbo or h100 jimmy bob

hodgsons website has a recipe book for hand loads.. Use it all the time and it's free. Just put info in and it spits out usually 10-15 powders and start charges
