The paperwork came in the mail yesterday so today I took the new BushMaster QRC to the range.

It came with one 30 round mag pinned at 5 and a red dot sight. The red dot is totally useless if you ask me,I could barely see the dot at 20 yards on a white target. The bright sunshine may have had something to do with it but it's still going to be replaced with a low power scope.I'm thinking a 1.5 - 4.5x maybe.
I did fire 40 rounds into the backstop to test the function and it preformed flawlessly as it should.

And there will always be people who say "Why do you need an AR?" My answer is..

"Well I don't NEED an AR and I also don't NEED a whiney little sniveler but yet here you are."

It's a fun little toy and here's a few pics.

Very nice.
Need to order up a few LAR-15 mags so you can have legal 10round capacity at least.

Are those legal for real?

A few years ago I heard something about guys using .50 Beowulf mags but haven't heard much about those lately.

I hope so or I am a felon.
Ya they are good to go because they are pistol mags.
They are available from a few different retailers.

haha I'll just stick with a five round mag, they work good for shooting five round groups.

If we were allowed 30 round mags I'd go broke buying ammo.  ;D ;D

Neat piece sonny, so did I win the bet regarding using it for trap shooting  :D, video please. I’m thinking you’ll need the 30 shot mag.

Momma’s new gun.

We got this little gem for the wife yesterday. She enjoys walking the dogs around the property daily and we do have a definite bear issue around here so she asked for something light and easy to use. What better than a little scatter gun. Nothing fancy, Mossberg, Maverick 88 set up with the 18.5” bbl, gun also came with 28” bbl she can use when we skeet shoot. With the youngest soon to move out she also wanted a home defender. This one will sit up on hooks in her walk in closet. I explained if there is a break in to the house she is to go to her closet and grab the gun and stay in there. If she hears someone coming to worn them she is armed, if they come that far and still open the closet door it means they intend to harm her and it’s time to cut the down.

We will practice with her with standard 2 3/4 bird load so she can get comfortable with the gun. For bear defence and home defence I bought her a couple boxes of 2 3/4, 00 buckshot.

The gun is still a little long in the pull for her I spent a while last night looking for a JR stock for it to shorten it for her and can not find where anyone offers one. Would really appreciate help in this area guys..

Those are handy little shotguns Walleyes. My son has an identical one just like that.He slings it over his shoulder when bow hunting because you just never know if you will run into a grumpy bear.

Glad to see your wife have one but lets hope she never has to use it in a defence situation.

btw... do you own a backhoe?  ;D

I have the Winchester defender like that Walleyes. Great little shot Gun and easy to wheel in tight spots, you wife will handle it well I think.

My newest.  Getting ready for Strathcona season.
Picked up this Maverick 88 with 24" ported rifled slug barrel for sabot slugs.  Also got the short 18.5" defender barrel.
I put a Nikon P3 shotgun series 2x7 BDC200 reticule scope on it.

Ready to sight it in now and figure out which sabot slugs work the best in it.  Chamber is 3".
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

With all the rain you must have seen some of THE track sizes in the past week. :o :)

Just trying to correct a sentence.

Do you guys think this is sacrilege?  :-\ Leveraction please weigh in.  ;)
So I wanted to help out my eyes a bit and turn my Model 94 lever into a better shooter at the same time.
No way would I go so far as to scope it even though it is an angle eject.  94AE
So I really love these red dot reflex sights so I put a Burris Fastfire 3 on it.  It is a 3 MOA dot size and has a nice auto brightness feature.
It has a snap on protective hood too if desired.
I will see how it shoots this weekend with the new sight.  I am hoping it will be a practical 175 yard bush gun.  Sticking to shooting 170 grain round noses though I think so far.

The thing I like with these holographic sights is that with my glasses on the dot is in focus and so is the target at distance.  With the iron sights this is a bit problematic for me.

Do you want an honest Opinion?

Good grief that is gaudy looking.

Maybe it just needs a Boyds stock. ;D
