Gun Ranages
« on: April 12, 2016, 01:50:16 PM »
How is your area gun range doing in regards to rules and usage these days? The reason I ask is I have been a member of our little range for years now. Up until a few years ago we where small enough you could go there on a week day or early in the morning on weekends and no one would be around. Common sense was in place and the 75 to 100 members followed the rules with no problem. Now we are over 300 members, the club has been on the radar of the RCMP since we have gown so much, the club has had to really tighten up how they operate. They have cameras in place now, sign in and out sheets with the type of gun you used, no shooting less than 100 yards and many other new rules. That combined with a waiting line  to use the range has taken the fun out of it for me. I agree that the range has to be safe, but I would much rather drive to crown land now days. I guess that's how it is now with so much population growth. Only problem is if you want to use your revolver your stuck.

We have a very nice range here in Hinton.

Speckle55 has some pics that he took and hopefully he'll post them later.

Have my own private range that we can get out to 350 if we want. May annoy the neighbours sometimes but oh well,, it's my land I enjoy it as I please. Not breaking any laws so alls OK.

We are looking at another place farther out in the county now, then I will be able to set up my range. Use to shoot lots here but subdivision moved in. Can't wait to move on.
