So I was kinda bored and just rooting around in the ammo locker and said...

Holy crap..I could legally hunt big game with 11 different calibers..

Here they are..

6.5x55 swede
7.5x55 swiss
7.62x39 (softpoint only ofcourse)
.30-30
.308
7.62x54r
.303 brit
.30-06
8x57 mauser
.45-70
and last but not least is a 12 gauge slug..

Funny thing is I have shot all my big game with my .30-06 except a small deer which was a 70 yard shot with my sks 7.63x39

I can think of a few more that I may want/need..

So what's in your bag of goodies for hunting big game?

I down sides a lot of my more modern caliber guns. Just kept the ones that are inherited from my family, or a caliber I want to play with. Course no leavers went, I'm adding those. Any older Marlins and Winchesters are on my buy list. Also starting to look at building a Muzzle loaders list. Thinking I might go into black powder more for hunting. Mix it up a bit after 40 some years of same old gun and scope combo. Work on getting close to the game, and get back my true hunting skills, not the reach out and kill distance thing.

I kept the .223 and 5.56 NATO separate because my AR is stamped 5.56 and my axis is stamped .223

I've read somewhere that you can shoot .223 in a rifle stamped 5.56 but not the other way around...*shrugs*

Make sure you have locks on that bed, it's the law. Boy walleyes, some one had to let you know that salt under a tree during hunting season is against the law, now I have to remind you of the gun laws. You trying to be a free Canadian or what.
