We had a trailer stolen last year, I used this site to check the vin, it actually worked, provided details of the trailer when I punched in the VIN, showed as stolen. Would I punch in rifle serial numbers? Perhaps not, but if the rifle has already been stolen and reported, it will show up as stolen on this site, which could help report someone selling a stolen rifle. Anyway my trailer was recovered in Innisfail at a chop shop, some minor damage to it, cost me $1000 overall to sort it out, worst part is I had to pay a towing company to give me my trailer back.
