Going to purchase a Ruger Mini 14, anyone have any info on this rifle?

They are crude, and not super accurate, but are reliable. The target models have a vibration balancer (16 oz or so) threaded on the end of the barrel. After owning one, the upside I can see with them is they are non-restricted. I know I won't be buying another mini-14. I prefer the AR-15s, but the restricted status is a pain.
