I would assume you are talking about a Rem mtn rifle.  They are IMO one of the nicer feeling rilfes you can buy lean towards a 280 if you can find one for bullet selection and the option of Improving the chamber realy makes it come to life.

I have the Rem 30.06 mountain series, fine rifle. I like the monte carlo stock for comfort. Mounted a Bushnell Elite (3200) on it and they seem to be a good fit.

Big fan of the .280 REM,, I have bought 3, 700's now one for each of my sons.. They are a fine cartrige.. 2 of the guns are the moutain rifles, not the SS, 1 has the detachable mag 1 not and one is a classic 700 manafactured in 1964. That gun is my middle son I found it at the Outdoorsman in Med Hat it was on consignment. I payed enough for it but it is worth it,, what a tack driver that gun is, a true gem. All the guns are mounted with Leupold, Riflemans.. They are fine guns indeed.

I should have been more specific. What I am interested in is a Remington LSS 280 Rem, as a reloader I can see the potential of this cartridge and its extremely efficient. They are hard to find!

Don't worry to much about that safety if it bothers you pacific tool and gauge makes a cap for them in purdy colours it bothers me I need 4 of them.  I think they are 45 bucks.

It will have a good trigger in it more adjustable.
