I've had one or another .54 percussion rifle for quite a few years now, have always wanted a flintlock but could just never find a used one in .54. Nor could I bring myself to pay 6-700.00 for a new Lyman 1:66 not knowing if I'd like it or not for sure. Plus, I'm not a fan of the set trigger.
Then I spotted this beauty. It's a .50, but I'd given up finding a .54. Price was right and after taking it apart I seriously doubt it was ever even shot! Can't tell you how she shoots yet, buy a flintlock and it rains for two weeks straight.

Oh well, lot's of summer left.

They're pretty much all made in Spain, this one's a Traditions brand 1:48, hope it shoots patched balls well, no reason not to, I've a 1:48 percussion that shoots them well. A surprise bonus with this one, when you pull the barrel it's got a removable breech plug And wormhole. NICE.
If I can get it sorted out in time I just might take it hunting this fall. Click, Flash.........Boom Now I just need a fringe jacket and 'coonskin cap.
