New Adition To The Family.
« on: January 17, 2016, 02:53:45 PM »
Jordan came down for the weekend (camoman) we ended up at the gun shop and he got himself a new toy.

Sako Finnlight chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. Topped it off with Ziess Conquest 3-15x50mm with the Rapid z reticle.. Sweet unit.

Still won't be enough to compete with the old man but hey,, kids have to try lol..

Yah you know Jimmy we are a Remington family have been for years and I still love my Remi's but I have to be honest here,, lately I have been quite disapointed in the quality of their product. 3 years ago I set out to buy a new rifle I wanted a light weight mag a hiking gun. I toyed with the new Remi XCR which is the closest thing they make to an all weather packer and I have to tell you I was not impressed. Loose bolt, cheap quality stock just not a tight gun and realy not much for weight savings over a wood gun. I ended up going with a Browning Composite Stalker chambered in 300wsm. The Remi doesn't come close in quality or weight. The composite stalker I believe just by what I have researched is the lightest over the counter mag on the market.

No I hate to admit it but the last couple years I have been shying away from Remington. Not saying they are bad or that I will never buy another but what I have been doing is shopping pre 80's Remington's.

Think the most modern one I have is from 2002.

The best ones I belive start with a #c.

Seen a few new ones that where disappointing in quality.
