How healthy and active were the pheasants at the Taber Pheasent Festival this year?

Apparently the birds were driven directly from MacFarlane's in Nebraska and then thrown in the field to be shot.

This is hearsay and conjecture in my neck of the woods. Good old bar B.S.

Someone tell me this is not true.
