JS has not shot them always the A-max he says.  It might be worth while buying a sleeve of the htbt Hornady has moved its tooling around to keep up with demands more hunters then shooters of course.  I have shot Bergers before they where cool 1997 or so mostly in 6mm and 17 cal stuff I have never much been impressed with them except for some flat base 6mm stuff.
try some now! ever since they hired litz their quality control on their bullet manufacturing has been awesome lot to lot.unfortunately hornady not so much.any of the hybrids are pretty amazing.problem is they are expensive if you are shooting 4000 to 5000 rounds a year.ive found the amax quality from lot to lot getting worse which goes with what you said about them trying to keep up with demand.two years ago there wasn't much in the way of bullets that would outshoot the amax.

Have you ever run any bullets in a meplat trimmer?

nope looks like one too many steps for this guy! lol  seriously though I will probably look at the meplat trimmer in the new year and pay more attention to sorting projectiles.
