I know there has been alot of variants of the Beretta, the FS or A1 seem to be the most readily available but I would probably be interested in any of them at the right price. I own just the one handgun right now, thats a little 8 shot .22 revolver(its great for golphers) but Im looking for a nice 9mm plinker under $1000..ish....  spring fever I s'pose.

Most places sell these in the $549-$569 range.I bought mine at Marstar when they had them on sale for $499 but they are sold out now.
However if you are interested in these Lever Arms has them on sale for $479,you won't find them cheaper than that.

*edit*

This looks like a helluva good deal.. CZ-85 (trade in) with 1000 rounds of ammo for $699

That seems pretty reasonable... but they would have to lock and case it before shipping so thats usually another 50-60 bucks at least, and only one mag. Still decent but I just started looking around, havent been to ProLine or Shooters Edge yet, WSS didnt have anything exciting when they closed up. Im not in big hurry, golphers wont be out for a few weeks yet. Im trying to find something none of my regular plinkin' buddies already have. Cabelas have the FS and A1 but they arent exactly cheap in there... and there is a few used ones around that are interesting. The CZs are nice. Im not stuck on a 9mm but they are cheap to shoot. Theres lots of those M&P 40 or 45 around but I dont like the trigger pull on those, feels odd to me, I know there is an upgrade trigger mech you can buy for them but then thats not cheap either.

Ever handle a Bersa? See one on TP but Ive never heard of them.

I figured I would give you guys/gals a chance to brag on your favorites but everyone else is being shy... thats not normal on any forum.Lolol

Lock?
Case?
$50-$60 shipping...lol..I don't think so Tim. ;D

No lock,no case and maybe $20-$30 for shipping with Canada Post right to your door.

Plus they take care of the registration transfer....easy peasy.  ;)

Doesnt it have to be in a locked case?... or at least a lock thru it? or maybe thats just canada post

Some couriers will deliver to the farm but not all, sometimes I have to pick up from the post office in town... and that means a permit from CFP... not a big deal, just a phone call and they email a permit

Once YOU take possession of it and have the proper Rpal and registration then yes you will need a case with a lock on it to transport it to the range.....BUT

If you go to the post office and sign for a parcel wrapped in plain brown paper why would you need a lock and a case?

You don't know what's in the package until you get home and open it,right?

Like I said ..Then you will need a case with a lock..

Not many handgunners here and the few that do don't want to advertise what they have...I'm cool with that. ;)

I had one shipped privately thru canada post awhile back and the seller had to apply for a transport permit to put it in the mail... and I had to apply for a permit to transport it from the post office home... this according to the dude at the CFP office in Edmonton when we called to transfer ownership... so we obliged him... no sense makin waves right, its all done on the phone and email, and free.

Ya right.. everytime I think I have it 'Nailed Down' they change the bloody rules... Lol

I had to 'renew' my rpal this week, they send out a reminder well in advance tho and at my age thats is appreciated... first time Ive done it online... bit of a pita but not too terrible I s'pose, had to create a new profile for some GCKey login thing and take a new selfie for them.... and pay $80. In the end it was less hassle than waiting for them to send the hard copy forms and then mailing that back.

So in the end I picked up something new and differant to try... a Canuck(Tisas) 1911 Zig 9, made in Turkey. Basic range kit with case and two mags, seems to be a good quality firearm with smooth action and trigger. Only sent a few rounds down range but Im liking it so far.

Have to admit I thought the name "Canuck" was a bit goofy, and have "True north stong and free" engraved on it is also a bit weird but... I like it, it works as slick as any 1911 Ive tried. I might want to upgrade the sights or maybe put a laser on it but its a good shooter just as it is. I would rate it better than the S+W M&P models, or the SD9 VE.....more comparable quality to a CZ 85 Combat 9 which is about $300 more. Its certainly not a Colt 1911 but at half the cost its alot more affordable.

Lol... Im good for now but maybe next spring. Ive owned several handguns since I was in the Militia back in the late 70s but almost quit shooting them until a couple years ago when an old hunting buddy from BC moved near here and got his rpal, he's been buying enough for both of us and dragging me to the range alot so I decided to buy a 9mm since they are reasonably cheap to shoot. I picked up the Canuck and 1000 rounds, tax included for $1,101.

Buddy and I were range shooting on sat, he had a brand new Colt 1911 .45($1450) and I had my new Tisas 1911 9mm($650).... 100 rounds each, he had one jam, I had none... so Im pretty happy with the Tisas 1911 copy so far... still think "Canuck" is a goofy name for it but it works well. Most shots were 25 yds but we did try a few rounds at 40 yds and could still hit a 6" square target MOST of the time. I picked up a Barska laser for next time out so I'll see how I like that. Cleanup was easy, fairly straight forward disassembly down to the firing pin. All in all for a low budget plinker Im impressed.
