WTB youth/ladies caliber

Hey all, I am looking for a caliber suitable for my 12 yr old son to start with, that the missus will be able to use down the road. .243, 30-06, 7mm-08 something in that range but reasonably priced.....

How about a Remington 721 in .270 for $450?  Let me know.

Okotoks, Alberta.  I just put up the ad.  The 721 is the 3rd gun down.
