Bow for my wife.
« on: June 30, 2012, 09:29:11 PM »
Guys,

My wife is really wanting to get into archery, I have not told her yet but I am thinking of trading or one of my two bows to get her one.  I have had her shooting a re-curve but it is not what she wants.  I now it would need to be 30# 26"  I think something with a decent brace height.

My bows are nothing special one is a 2005 Bowtech old Glory 60 - 70 29" I also have 50 - 60 limbs for it it is Blue Marble with Camo limbs right now (I hunt with that bow)

I also have a 2005 Bowtech Constitution 60 - 70 29"  Red marble I have been shooting target with it.

I know they are not worth much but they are all I have, and I want to see her into the sport with me.  I do not anticipate her hunting at all.

What do you guys think?

I would to second the razors edge, but also recommend the recurve idea. I know it's not what she wants, but as a recurve longbow lover I haft to try and recommend the trad tech apex 3 piece recurve... All in the bow is 460 and your not playing with gizmos all the time. Less fiddling and more shooting.

My two cents.

Congrats on having a partner to shoot with and good on you for doing such a nice thing to get her started
Quote from Howard Hill.( Whenever he taught someone to shoot) "Son make up your mind right now if you want to target shoot or hunt as theres a world of differance between the two"

Hope this goes over well....
