lol....it's true...

I have a 9.9 Johnson that I bought from an AO member last spring and the first couple of times out it ran great.Then it started to act up,bogging down,stalling,running ruff and sputtering.
Took it in for a tune up and $198 later.....same story....grrrr.

Anyway,today we found the problem,like I said it sucks...lol

It was sucking air at the fuel line/gas connection on the fuel tank.I'm not really sure if it's the hose fitting or the tank fitting but yeah there is a lot of play there and not a good seal.Anywhoo..
I ran the motor with an old metal tank from a six horse that we had and I'm happy to say that the Johnson ran wide open for an hour without even a burp..   

So.....did anyone else run across a problem like this before?

A good idea is to check all fuel line connections, even the ones under the hood. I do it once a year.

My old Johnson is just fine....

A friend had the same problem but it turned out to be an 0-ring on the hose that connects to the gas tank.
