2013 Spring Bear
« on: April 01, 2013, 04:42:29 PM »

Looks like the weather is finally going to turn crappy again I have been waiting for some colder weather or snow to get out too bait.  Wife is looking forward to this as well been keeping a few tasty things for bait in the freezer.

Anyone else start yet?

My nephew and I hope to get out to a customer lease in 500 for  hopefully spot and stalk again.  Work doesn't give me the time  to properly take care of a bait.  Still 2-3' of snow here so we are probly looking at  may long or there abouts.
I'm from the country , and I like it that way!!!

Made it out today to get the baiting started I was hoping for some cold weather but it was warm still today lots of mud.  On the bright side snow is melting fast in the bush around here pretty easy to get around.

A few equipment malfunctions made for a long day but it was enjoyable none the less.

Good Luck everybody this season hope to see some good bear pics up on here.  I plan to get the little lady out on a few spot and stalk hunts but won't be for a little bit yet.  Tentatively planning to head up to La Crete area to visit family and do some bear hunting May long and hopefully get a couple hunts in west of Caroline.

Was out in banff yesterday at castle mountain junction for work.  I was talking to the hotel manager and he has saw three bears out already.  black sow with 2 cubs, a lone black boar and a grizzly.  If they are out in the mountains, shouldn't be two long for them in the foothills.  Good luck to all bear hunters.
